ProfilingValues: Values as a Compass

Our values shape how we perceive the world, make decisions and deal with other people. Yet very few of us have ever examined our values systematically. The ProfilingValues assessment provides exactly that – a scientifically grounded framework.
What is ProfilingValues?
ProfilingValues is a diagnostic instrument based on the value philosophy of Robert S. Hartman. It does not measure what you think about yourself – it measures how you actually value and judge. That makes the result a particularly authentic picture of your value orientation and competencies.
Unlike personality tests that rely on self-assessment, ProfilingValues captures your value orientation through the way you evaluate statements. This makes the results far less susceptible to social desirability bias.
The three value dimensions
Intrinsic dimension (I) – Your ability to perceive people and situations in their uniqueness. People with a strong I-dimension are empathetic, relationship-oriented and sensitive to the needs of others.
Extrinsic dimension (E) – Your ability to think and act practically. A strong E-dimension shows up as organisational talent, pragmatism and the ability to execute things efficiently.
Systemic dimension (S) – Your ability to think in systems, structures and principles. People with a strong S-dimension are strategic, rule-oriented and good at developing long-term plans.
Areas of application
Career development: ProfilingValues shows you which professional environments fit your value orientation. Someone with a strong I-dimension will most likely be unhappy in a purely numbers-driven environment without human interaction – regardless of the salary.
Leadership development: For leaders the assessment is especially valuable because it exposes blind spots. Those who think strongly in systems but neglect the intrinsic dimension are often perceived as distant – even when they are professionally brilliant.
Team building: When an entire team takes the assessment, a deep understanding of different value orientations emerges. This reduces conflict and improves collaboration.
Recruiting: Companies use ProfilingValues to test the fit between candidates and corporate culture – beyond CVs and interviews.
The difference to other assessments
While CliftonStrengths measures your natural talents, ProfilingValues goes deeper: it captures the value base on which your decisions and behaviour rest. The combination of both assessments delivers a complete picture: CliftonStrengths shows WHAT you can do well – ProfilingValues shows WHY you act the way you do.
Conclusion
Your values are your inner compass. Knowing them means making more conscious decisions – in your career, in your relationships and in life in general. ProfilingValues gives you a unique access to that compass. Use it.
