Profilingvalues Test – make your values, motives and value creation measurable
The Profilingvalues test is a scientifically validated values and motives assessment based on the formal axiology of Robert S. Hartman (Hartman Value Profile / HVP). It doesn't measure what you can do best – it measures what truly matters to you and how much value-creation energy you have available today. As certified Profilingvalues coaches in Switzerland, we guide you from test access through the ~20-minute online test to a 60-min 1:1 debrief – turning a PAT report into a concrete plan for career, leadership and life.

Who is this for?
- You are facing a career or life decision and want to clarify what truly matters to you – with data.
- You lead a team and want to surface hidden value conflicts, misalignment and silent demotivation.
- You work in recruiting and want an objective method beyond classic interviews.
- You have done the Gallup CliftonStrengths® test and want to add the values layer.
„CliftonStrengths showed me what I do well. Only Profilingvalues made it obvious why the job still drained me – my top values simply did not appear in it."

Profilingvalues, PAT and the Hartman Value Profile – one assessment, several names
Profilingvalues, Profiling Values, PAT (Personal Audit Tool) and the Hartman Value Profile (HVP) all refer to essentially the same scientific values assessment. The scientific foundation is the formal axiology of philosopher and logician Robert S. Hartman (1910–1973), who was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1973 for his work "The Structure of Value". Profilingvalues has turned the HVP into a digital online procedure, today used by HR, coaches, consultancies and leaders across Switzerland, Germany and Austria.
Methodologically Profilingvalues is fundamentally different from classic personality tests like MBTI, DISC, Big Five or CliftonStrengths®. You don't answer self-report statements ("this is me / this is not me"). Instead, you rank two sets of 18 value items by personal importance – once from the perspective of the world, once from the perspective of your self. From this double ranking, the Hartman algorithm computes over 50 metrics on your value profile, value-creation energy, stress patterns and blind spots. The test takes about 20 minutes and is available in English, German, French and other languages.
Profilingvalues surfaces what other assessments cannot reach: the intrinsic value hierarchy and how strained it currently is. Someone may be CliftonStrengths-strong in "Achiever", but if their top values are "Connectedness" and "Meaning" while their job mainly rewards output and efficiency, silent exhaustion follows. The PAT report makes those value conflicts visible at a glance. This is why Profilingvalues is especially powerful for career pivots, burnout prevention, values-based recruiting (PAT recruiting) and leadership development.
In our coaching work we often combine Profilingvalues with Gallup CliftonStrengths® and the Enneagram into the so-called Three-Level Model: strengths (What can I do?), values (What matters to me?) and motivation (Why do I do it?). This combination delivers a 360° picture of your personality – the foundation for career decisions, leadership roles and team setups that hold up long-term, whether you work with us in Zurich, Bern, Basel or online from anywhere in the world.
